Clearing the Decks

Bracknell Conservative MP Andrew MacKay has announced that he is to stand down at the next general election.

Whilst there can be no excuses for claiming the second home allowance at the same time as his MP wife, at least Mackay has recognised that for the good of British Politics, he had to go.

It is a great shame that the likes of Hazel Blears cannot come to the same conclusion.

  1. That's because she did something different than this chinless wonder - and matches a number of tories who also used different primary residences for tax purposes than for allowances - do you actually read stuff, or is all this in your head? If Coneron wants to cut a swath through the shadow cabinet, I'm sure that Gorden will respond in kind - after you Dave old boy!

  2. Better still let's have a general election & get the general public's view.

As for reading this stuff my friend, it was dear old Gordan who said that the Chipminck's conduct was unacceptable.
